Know WhatYou'reListening To

PLAYED BY HUMANS: FILM
The Mission
Played By Humans puts the power to distinguish between AI-generated music and music made by humans in the hands of its creators.
In doing so, we've provided artists with an authenticated, definitive, industry-wide standard to set their work apart, while giving fans the confidence of knowing, without question, that what they're hearing was made by real, live human artists.
In an age where the line between human and machine has blurred, the value of this understanding has never been more important — for creative, cultural, economic and sociological reasons all.

Values Statement
A MUSICIAN'S
RIGHT TO
STAND APART:
We believe that the artists who pour their lives into their work deserve more than anonymity in a sea of algorithms. This is a tool for musicians to claim their space, declare their craft, and ensure their humanity is never erased or mistaken.
TRANSPARENCY
THAT SERVES
EVERYONE:
Listeners deserve to know where their music comes from, and musicians deserve to be seen for who they are. We provide a standard that honors both, giving artists the ability to distinguish their work while giving fans the clarity they deserve.
CHOICE
AS
EMPOWERMENT:
Whether a listener cares about the origin of a song or not, musicians should never be stripped of the ability to distinguish their work on their own terms. Played By Humans exists to protect that choice, giving artists the final say over how their humanity is represented.
The Certification
Human musicians can use our tool to verify to the world that their music is human-made and receive the validation label through a secure blockchain-based process. Music lovers can upload music they find in order to discover if what they're listening to is truly played by humans.
The Played By Humans certification is the proof of human authenticity.
Partnerships
Dozens of artists, labels, and companies have joined us in our ambition to appreciate the humanity behind the music and we're taking steps together to make sure that fans know that the music they're listening to is made by other humans.
